Paalam na Dakilang Kaibigan

So greatly missed and fondly remembered! I will never forget your example of humility, simplicity and child-likeness. It is no wonder your unassuming ways enabled you to absorb vast knowledge. I consider you a great loss to society, your friends and loved ones. Your zest for life and positive outlook encouraged and inspired not only me but all who have come to know you.

Before I left your hospital bed last November, 22, 2010, I remember looking deep into your eyes when you asked me " When will we see each other again?". I got cold shivers inside me as I felt it  was going to be the last but I did not tell you because I wanted to continue encouraging you and I was  praying and hoping a miracle  healing to happen in your life.   You were brave and courageous to face the battles of "C". You amazed even your doctors for your strong will power to live and overcome your ailment. You were not resigned. Such an unselfish stance that very few possess. You wanted to contribute more for the betterment of society.

I will not  deny that I am regretful in  losing a friend like you and feel sorry that I knew too late of your predicament with “C”. As soon as I got back to the USA, I lost no time in looking for a Medical Research Institution that would be interested to provide you with treatment. I did find one in Houston, Texas but nevertheless, it was too late as the requirement was no prior medication must have been done in order for research treatment to be considered. To ease my heartaches for regretting what I could have done to help you out, God reminded me that “ we are living on borrowed time from Him. I recall I told you this to lift up your spirits. And God always came back to me with the same answer as I asked Him “ Why Telly”?  Now it is clear to me that God had a better plan for you. I am most  privileged to be your friend. I kept all your text messages to me since we got reconnected on my recent Manila visit. You always found time to express your gratitude and never failed to return kind words of concern for me and my family.   Of course, I will not forget that we always  jide to call each other "insan" as we always  were amused by the fact that I could have almost been your cousin-in-law. ( ha ha).

Farewell now, my friend! I salute you and your Maker!

To Francis, your loving and  dedicated husband, and Ega your only sister,  my deepest condolences.
I share in your deep loss, and our loss too!

About Me

My photo
I am, Angel (Luli) as fondly called by Telly. Telly was my childhood classmate and friend. We spent 12 years of our formative childhood and adolescent High School years at St. Theresa's College, Manila. I am awed and blessed to meet her true friends and loved ones. As we read more and more from what they share, we come to know more about her and the legacy of her contributions to society including her hopes and aspirations for economic development. Those who truly know Telly will appreciate the kind of work and many accomplishments she did. Her husband, Francis, on the Eulogy night for Telly, set aside unselfishly the focus on self (as a grieving husband for the loss of a wife). Instead he talked about how the death of Telly was a loss to the Intellect and Society at large. The impact of the loss is felt even in the international community. I invite you to write your tribute, share your sentiments/feelings for Telly and send any related post about her-- pictures, articles are welcome. ( Email address: forloveoftelly@gmail.com). I will make sure they are posted here for all of us to draw inspiration.
