Memorial Candle Lit for Telly in prayer

I called up Telly on an overseas call three days before she left. I  talked with her  on her death bed and I prayed and sang this song with her.  During my last visit of her at Makati Medical Center on November 2010,  I was able to tell her that when I found out that she was stricken with a rare form of cancer, I  questioned God " Why Telly?"  And I was able to share the reflection I  had on this  and was able to tell her---- "Telly, when I  found  out that you  were ill, I was devastated by the news and  asked God for answers, and  God  whispered to me " My child,  do not forget that you are all living on borrowed time  from Me and everyday that you are alive is an opportunity that God is giving  us to come to the saving grace and knowledge of  His Son Jesus Christ"   She surrendered her life to Jesus and told me, that she was ready.  She told me she was shunning away from any further medical surgeries.  I told her "Yes that will be your last" for I knew deep in my heart, she was homeward bound.   I was able to tell her this "You don’t need to fear where you are going,  continue to trust in Jesus , soon you will be in your real home (I meant heaven).   She said AMEN and  uttered her thanks.   Her voice was already  very frail but she was still able to say her last words to me, " Thank you, Angel, God bless you and your family!"  She died three days after.  I thank God that Telly has the assurance of salvation and that she is now in Heaven.

"Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him" (1 Thessalonians 4:13-14)

About Me

My photo
I am, Angel (Luli) as fondly called by Telly. Telly was my childhood classmate and friend. We spent 12 years of our formative childhood and adolescent High School years at St. Theresa's College, Manila. I am awed and blessed to meet her true friends and loved ones. As we read more and more from what they share, we come to know more about her and the legacy of her contributions to society including her hopes and aspirations for economic development. Those who truly know Telly will appreciate the kind of work and many accomplishments she did. Her husband, Francis, on the Eulogy night for Telly, set aside unselfishly the focus on self (as a grieving husband for the loss of a wife). Instead he talked about how the death of Telly was a loss to the Intellect and Society at large. The impact of the loss is felt even in the international community. I invite you to write your tribute, share your sentiments/feelings for Telly and send any related post about her-- pictures, articles are welcome. ( Email address: forloveoftelly@gmail.com). I will make sure they are posted here for all of us to draw inspiration.
